Some useful ideas from A1 Clutches and a FREE audio book!

To help reduce the spread of Coronavirus, our Government is enforcing a policy of self-isolation. This is affecting everyone and may prove to be challenging, especially when there are youngsters in the household. We’ve put together some handy tips that might be helpful in occupying the long days ahead and there’s a FREE audible book too!

Congratulations to Amanda Jane, an NHS worker from Birmingham,

We don’t want to end up as couch potatoes but it is inevitable that many of us will spend more time in front of a screen during this time. A familiar TV programme, or re-runs of your favourite comedy shows can really lift the mood and why not shop around for streaming services that have offers on at the moment. You might choose Disney+ for the kids which is new and has a whole host of family friendly shows. Amazon Prime and Netflix also offer free trials.

There are many magazine subscription deals to be found if you shop around online. You can get the magazine delivered to your door and for example, a home décor magazine may inspire you to revamp a room, a DIY magazine may prompt you to restore a piece of furniture or finally fix that leaking tap. You may find that this time will enable you to learn a new skill which could become useful at future date.

Whatever the size of your garden or even if you have a small balcony or window sill, why not prepare some colourful plants for the summer months ahead. With garden centres closed this is an opportunity to ensure some cheering colourful plants in the summer. You can order seeds and ‘plug’ plants online and get them off to a good start. Maybe buy a ‘popup’ greenhouse too, to protect your plants from chillier evenings. Gardening is very therapeutic and you can also get the kids involved.

Get the scales out, grease and line your tins and get to work on some new recipes! Everyone feels better when they’ve tasted a slice of homemade cake. The kids will love to join in too and you are teaching them life skills for the future.
