Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sendirian Berhad is the full name of Perodua, and translated it means Second Automobile Manufacturer Private Limted, so not exactly the sexiest of car manufacturer names. Perdoua, the largest Malaysian manufacturer, was founded in 1993, making them one of the newer kids on the block, and they specialise very clearly in the mini and supermini market.

Perodua do not engineer or design the main components f their cars (such as the engine or gearbox) instead using parts from Daihatsu who have increased their 25% share int he company formt he launch day to 35% now.

The majority of Perodua vehicles are sold within the doemstic Malaysian market, however they also have a small presence via a network of private dealers in 18 international markets, including the UK.
